What to Look for in a Dance Teacher?
Just Dance! is committed to ensuring the safest possible environment for children, young people and vulnerable adults to enjoy dance. To make your dance sessions fun we recommend that your dance teacher is appropriately qualified, motivated, well-organised and aware of the following:
- That all practitioners / volunteers working with children, young people (U18's) and/or vulnerable adults must be carefully selected, and both understand and accept responsibility for their safety while in their care
- That appropriate Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) / disclosure checks must be undertaken on all practitioners / volunteers that are working with children, young people (U18's) and/or vulnerable adults.
- That the welfare of the child, young person and/or vulnerable adult is of paramount importance, regardless of age, gender, ability or race, when planning, organising, advising on and delivering dance activities, and that risk assessments of venues must be performed prior to the session.
